my mars flag
I must admit, my mars flag was inspired by the flag of the United Nations. It makes sense to use it any how, I mean, surely the endeavor to colonize space is going to take international cooperation.

super droll sunday!
It's that time of year again sports fans, thats right, super bowl Sunday. The day of beer, ball and burgers... and I don't much see the point of it all. The Superbowl I almost a holiday in of itself, it's both sad and sickening. I can honestly say I don't get the point of it all. Really I don't. You have droves of adults rooting for other adults (who get paid milions for playing a kids game) all decked out like high schoolers while stuffing their faces and getting piss-faced drunk. Yep, that's a fun filled day... not.

Thoughts for NASA and the rest of the space community
I have a few thoughts that may be of help for interplanetary pilot expectations. I thought long and hard about this over the course of a few evenings. The first idea I had was to use experienced air-freight pilots (the kind that have flown in any and everything imaginable, this includes plane models too), coast guard pilots, and of course experienced air-line pilots. Then you take this group and you give them, say, an 18 month "crash course" in space operations.... a gist of it kind of thing. Whether it be with NASA, ESA, JAXA, the Russian space agency, or whatever other organizations for such that are out there.
My second thought is more geared for colonizing. Colonize a near earth asteroid before even attempting Mars, it'll be easier and cheaper, not to mention closer. And closer means you can actually come back at a comparatively more reasonable cost. Hop on one of them asteroids while on its way out towards Mars. Surely there's one that fits those margins, right? Colonize that sucker and then from there jump from the asteroid to mars' surface or moons. Heck use the space rock AS the ride to a mars colony site. Turn that sucker into a mobile "gas station".
Hell, make it a raffle and people will pay to be selected! I kid you not, people would pay to be part of a drawing for the chance to be selected to go into space. I'm also quite certain people would play that same raffle for the chance to go to a different planet. I know I sure would.

To do list pt. II
I made a "to do list" last year around this time, and I must say with a fair amount of shame, I fell short. It was a terrible year to be a bike. Seriously, I had more bicycle related issues last year than I've ever had. I'm at the point where I want to get a moped. Anyway, as I said, I fell short of my morals.
So I have a new "to do" list for this year. Loose weight. That's it, nothing fancy, the tried and true rresolution. Easiest way to do that is switch to a mostly vegetarian diet. I can do that. I should probably cut back on coffee too... but I don't see that happening. I already quit smoking five years ago, I deserve at least one vice.

the adventures of "andy"
If you were brought here by an address on the back of a 20 dollar bill, then I salute you and ask if you would kindly comment where you came across "Andy".
This installment of random stuff is brought to you by the numbers 7 & 20. By that I mean Andrew Jackson, the seventh president and the man on the twenty. I was just sitting around my house and out of nowhere the thought hit me, "let's do a where's George with an "andy" so here it is.
Now, there's at least two of these babies floating around, the first of which was released into the wild at a fairway grocery store.
